Client Interviewer (Grocery Program & Clothing Center)
Interview clients to determine eligibility to receive groceries and clothing (Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon).
Data Entry (Sack Grocery Program & Clothing Center)
Input EAC information into the data system.
Grocery Stocker (Food Pantry)
Help stock and organize canned and dry goods, and bag bulk items such as laundry detergent, diapers, beans, rice and dry milk.
Grocery Packer (Food Pantry)
Pack grocery bags with food items from a designated list. The amount varies according to family size (Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. to noon).
Donut Packager (Food Pantry)
Package donuts for sack lunches (Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.).
Sack Lunches (Food Pantry)
Sack lunches (Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) and serve lunches (Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
Sandwich Maker (Food Pantry)
Make sandwiches for sack lunches given out to the hungry (Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.).
Clothing Center Volunteer
Sort, size and hang up clothes or welcome clients and help them find what they need for themselves and their families (Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon).
Pick up bread, bakery or other food items from a bakery or grocery store and deliver to EAC Fannin location on a weekday morning. Pick up clothing or food donations, as needed, and deliver to EAC.
Books & Backpacks
Help with the annual backpack and school supply distribution for pre-K through 12th grade children (early August).
Third Saturday Workday
Help with “behind the scenes” tasks such as sorting/hanging clothing and stocking the food pantry on the 3rd Saturday morning of the month (3rd Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon).
Pack and serve lunches (Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
Seasonal Projects, Fundraising and Support
Assist with special events. Support the EAC’s annual fundraising events (gala, E3 boutique sale, wine event, Oktoberfest, golf tournament). Participate on an organizational committee, put together a table of your friends to attend the gala, donate items for the silent auction, or a make a monetary contribution.
Other Ways to Serve
Help with phone calls and mailings. Coordinate a food or clothing drive at your school, church, neighborhood, or place of business. Help update EAC’s community resource and referral information. Mend donated clothing for the clothing center. Wash aprons for the food pantry. Clean out your closets and food pantries at home and donate items to EAC!
